John Crago, ADBC Commander
ADBC Commander, 1983-1984
John Crago was born April 3, 1921 in Huntington, Indiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 9, 1941 and was sent to the 19th Ordnance Battalion in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
He then transferred to the 17th Ordnance Company and sent to Philippine Islands arriving there on Sept. 16, 1941.
He was interred in the following prison camps: O'Donnell, Cabanatuan, Omine Machi coal mine in Japan. His imprisonment lasted 40 months. He was discharged from the Armed Forces on Dec. 21, 1945.
He married Florence and they had four daughters.
